Thomas Baillod successfully tackled a complex technical challenge initially envisioned by designer Diego Böttger-Zevallos by partnering with renowned watchmaker Olivier Mory, the creator behind the Chapitres 4 Tourbillon of BA111OD.

Rather than simply rotating a hand around a central axis, this innovative caliber makes an hour wheel satellite "roll" around a fixed central wheel. This ingenious design creates a unique cycloidal trajectory for the hour hand. Among the various cycloidal forms, we chose the deltoid (with a 1/3 ratio), giving the tip of the hour hand an elegant triangular path, a visual signature beloved by BA111OD.

Liliane Murenzi, Senior Designer at BA111OD, imparts a distinguished character to this piece, highlighting its DNA through a play of transparencies, asymmetries, and subtle openings in the movement at various levels, adding depth. The entire design is enhanced by the contrast of circular polished-brushed finishes and matte satin.

For this collaboration, Label Noir has reimagined the manufacture complication of the Neuchâtel watchmaker, adorning it with a deep black that alternates between brilliance and intense matte in an elegant play of light, accented by an acid green. This green is delicately dispersed on the hour markers, the hour disc, the minute hand, and the stitching of the textile strap, subtly enhancing the asymmetric reading of time. This novel interpretation, combining a circular display of minutes with a hypocycloidal display of hours, transforms the reading of time into a choreographic experience, capturing an alternative temporality that embodies the carousel of life.
